My background

I have specialised in the design, production and installation of individually designed architectural metalwork (together with restoration and conservation) since completing my BA in Three Dimensional Design and then my MA in Metalwork at the University of the Creative Arts in Farnham 2006.

In 2006 I was admitted as a Member of the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers and I was elected to their Iron Committee in 2012.

My work

My work consists of individual pieces designed for a specific client and location. Designs are derived from natural forms using a variety of techniques ranging from traditional blacksmithing to CNC laser cutting in order to achieve strength, beauty and longevity through proportion, line purity and attention to production detail.

I work closely with clients, architects and other related professionals to ensure that my finished pieces reflect the design and feel of existing architecture and surroundings.

Commissions

Commissions are varied in terms of both scale and materials ranging from repairing wrought iron garden benches to building spiral saircases  Typically (but not exclusively) my commissions are gates, internal and external staircases, balconies and balustrades. Additionally I have produced several types of external and internal sculpture. Some examples of my work are shown in the Gallery.

All my work is designed in close collaboration with my clients and is then produced in my own forge and metalworking facility in Hampshire. Examples of my work are installed in Italy and across the UK from the Scottish Highlands to the South Coast.
